Verona

Verona.

Verona was a literary character featured in Artie's Gals comic books, a publication that was known in the 23rd century.

History and specifics[]

Verona was a famous character according to Shiboline M'Ress, who read comics ever since she was a child. Verona attended a fictional 20th century high school in Brookdale on the planet Earth, where she often competed with Bessie for the attention of Artie.

In the year 2269, after discovering he was the writer/artist in what appeared to be a comic book alternate reality, Captain Daniel Fontana brought Starfleet officers into the Artie's Gals comic for his amusement. Captain James T. Kirk, Commander Spock, M'Ress, and Nyota Uhura watched as Artie broke a date with Bessie so he could attend a pool party at Verona's house. Verona was competitive, and wore the same bikini as Bessie to make her look bad in front of Artie.

After the pool's heater malfunctioned, Verona found Bessie hugging Spock. She asked to be introduced to the new friend, then was shocked to learn that she and Bessie were genetically identical apart from hair color. (TAS comic: "The Scheimer Barrier")

Verona's analog, the Archie Comics character Veronica Lodge, appeared on the subscriber variant cover to "Live Evil, Part 3" wearing a 2260s-era Starfleet uniform.
