Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

The Vesuvi system was a star system located at the edge of the volatile region of space known as the Maelstrom. In the late 2370s, the Federation moved into the system and began to terraform the two outermost planets so that they could begin mining the vast mineral sources located there. By 2378, Starfleet had also established a science station in orbit of the third planet. Before a Kessok Solarformer destroyed the star, it had one star and six planets. Following that catastrophe, the system was left starless with only two planets: Haven and Geki. In 2378, the USS Dauntless was sent to relieve both planets. Later that year, the USS Sovereign was sent to the Vesuvi Dust Cloud in order to find out what happened. (TNG video game: Bridge Commander)
