Vigdis Finnbogadóttir (born 15 April, 1930) was an Icelandic politician who lived during the 20th and 21st centuries.

Biography[]

She served as the President of Iceland from 1980 to 1996. She was Earth's first democratically elected female head of state.

In December 1986, she was present at the Hofoi House for the reception between the American and Soviet delegations where she entertained Nancy Reagan and Raisa Gorbachova while their husbands, US President Ronald Reagan and Soviet Union premier Mikhail Gorbachev, talked. This task made Roberta Lincoln feel sorry for President Finnbogadóttir because of the well known feud between Mrs Reagan and Mrs Gorbachova. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)
