See Vigelshevsky for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Vigelshevsky was a 23rd century Human man. He served in Starfleet as a relief communications officer serving aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in 2270 under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.

Biography[]

He had a bass voice, pale complexion, and beige colored eyes.

In October 2270, Vigelshevsky connected Kirk with Commodore Mahfouz at Starbase 9 to confirm that a landing party arrived safely. Later, while being forcibly coerced in her quarters, Lisa Nguyen asked Vigelshevsky to have transporter chief John Kyle beam a package directly there, hoping her stiff tone and the odd request for intra-ship beaming would signal that she was being threatened, but he didn't pick up on the hint. Later, Vigelshevsky recalled shore leave parties, confessing to Jonathon Stanger that Nguyen was in trouble for beaming an unauthorized person into her quarters. Thirty minutes before his shift ended, Vigelshevsky looked haggard when calling Kirk, transferring a scrambled call from Quince Waverleigh. (TOS novel: Bloodthirst)

Later that year, Vigelshevsky relieved Nyota Uhura shortly after the Enterprise docked at Earth Spacedock at the end of the five-year mission. Kirk asked him to reach Admiral Gregor Fortenberry at Starfleet Headquarters, and afterwards tried reaching Fleet Admiral Heihachiro Nogura. (TOS novel: The Lost Years)

In 2287 on the bridge of the USS Enterprise-A, Pavel Chekov showed Leonard McCoy a list of 23rd century musical composers. McCoy stopped him when he recognized the name Vigelshevsky pop onto the screen, but Chekov clarified that this was Anton Vigelshevsky, an electronic music composer. (TOS novel: Probe)
