"Visionary" is a third season episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. It was first broadcast in February 1995.
After being exposed to radiation, Miles O'Brien jumps forwards in time and witnesses the destruction of Deep Space 9.
Summary[]
Chief O’Brien is injured in Ops and is exposed to a low amount of radiation. Bashir recommends light duty for a couple of days. Meanwhile, a Romulan delegation has arrived on the station to receive Starfleet’s intelligence data on the Dominion. Complicating matters is the arrival of a Klingon freighter crew.
In Quark’s, O’Brien sets up a dart board, but as he goes to throw a dart, he finds himself watching another version of him talking to Quark on the Promenade. O’Brien soon finds himself back in the bar and collapses in pain. Bashir treats O’Brien and comments that he suffered a muscle spasm as a side effect to the radiation poisoning and that his vision a hallucination brought on by the same after effects.
The Romulan delegation meet with Commander Sisko and Major Kira and express their displeasure with the intelligence that the crew have gathered on the Dominion and demand access to more information. Ruwon comments that his people consider the Dominion to be the greatest threat to the quadrant.
O’Brien meets Quark on the Promenade and realises what saw in his vision is exactly the same as what is occurring now. This in confirmed for him when he sees the other O’Brien. Dax finds evidence of a temporal disturbance and it is determined that O’Brien is somehow travelling through time. O’Brien time travels again and saves his future self from being stabbed by a Klingon during a brawl in Quark’s. O’Brien returns to the past, where Bashir comments that any more instances of time travelling will eventually kill him.
