Vitellus (died circa 1875) was a Romulan man alive in the 19th century, serving as the Emperor of the Romulan Star Empire.

History and specifics[]

Vitellus was the final Romulan Emperor to possess the Devil's Heart - which the Romulan people called the Bloodstone.

Around the Earth year 1875, Vitellus led an attack on the planet Andor, believing that the powers of the Heart would allow his forces to easily conquer the Andorians. However, by then the Heart decided that it had enough of serving Vitellus and caused the shields protecting the invasion force's ships to fail, allowing the Andorians to pick all of them off. Vitellus was the only survivor after his ship crashed into the surface of Andor. Vitellus was discovered by a group of Andorian soldiers and taken to a nearby hospice where the healer Telev was trying to treat victims of a plague the Andorians called the Scourge. With the Andorian healers unable to treat Vitellus, the Romulan Emperor died from his injuries a short time later. Having retrieved the Heart from the Emperor, Telev was able to use the Heart to heal those suffering from the plague, ensuring what would come to be known as Telev's Bane a place in Andorian history.
