The crew of the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D explored the Volterra Nebula year 2369.
The nebula contained protostars at various stages of development. The crew's assignment was to study the nebula for three weeks, after which they departed for planet Atalia VII in the Atalia star system. (TNG episode: "The Chase")
