The Vomnin were a race of beings who had achieved stellar flight by the late 24th century. They were somewhat humanoid, leaning on their arms for support while walking like terrestrial gorillas, and also had wide, flat faces. Like the Federation, the Vomnin often explore well beyond their borders. They're extremely interested in salvaging and using abandoned alien technology. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)

The USS Titan made contact with the Vomnin in 2380 in the Gum Nebula. The Vomnin were allied with the Pa'haquel and assisted them in their efforts to control cosmozoan life in the region. Presumably during this mission, Titan obtained star charts from them. These charts noted a star in the Beta Quadrant that no longer appeared visible, but emitted high-energy radiation. (TTN novel: Orion's Hounds; ST - Destiny novel: Gods of Night)

In 2381, Titan encountered the Vomnin again. This time they encountered Vomnin Bezorek Station, which was created to administer the nearby Axis of Time. Vennor Sikran of the Bureau of Historical Resource Development was placed in charge of the station. As Captain Riker was worried about the potential temporal risks involved with the device, they docked at the station to investigate. Starfleet also sent the USS Capitoline via Quantum slipstream drive to join Titan's investigation, along with members of the Department of Temporal Investigations. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)

The Vomnin Confederacy is the main power within the Gum Nebula and a major state within the Beta Quadrant.

Along with many Alpha/Beta Quadrant powers they help to create and deliver the Temporal Defense Grid entirely in secret by the 25th century. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)
