Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Vorkado was a star system, located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Beta Quadrant, near the Calder and Zavijava systems and part of the 22nd century war zone in the Earth-Romulan War conflict between the Coalition of Planets and the Romulan Empire. This was the site of the Battle of Vorkado on 21 November in the year 2159.

History and specifics[]

The Vorkado system's orbit was the location of five worlds.

The Earth Starfleet starships Enterprise, Intrepid, and Republic were escorting a supply convoy through the Vorkado system when they detected a Romulan warbird, the Aoi'fvienn, entering the system.

The Republic and Intrepid executed a highly coordinated maneuver to dispatch the Romulan vessel while the Enterprise stayed behind to protect the convoy. Having been heavily outnumbered and already damaged by a previous fight with an Andorian convoy, Captain Khazara executed an escape maneuver by extending Aoi'fvienn's shields and igniting the ship's warp plasma, disabling the two attacking United Earth ships. Commodore Jonathan Archer decided not to pursue the Romulan vessel, but to assist the Republic and Intrepid and keep the convoy protected. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: To Brave the Storm)
