Vostok 1 was a Soviet Union Vostok program spacecraft that served with the Soviet Space Agency in the mid-20th century.

In 1961, Vostok 1 carried the first Human in space, the Russian Yuri Gagarin. It made a single revolution around the Earth. Its successful mission kept the U.S.S.R. in the lead of the "space race". During its flight it conducted radio and television broadcast with Earth. The capsule possessed the resources to sustain 12 days in orbit of the planet, but the actual flight lasted only 108 minutes.
