The Voth city ship was a massive transwarp-capable starship that served as the center of the Voth civilization. Which acted as mobile trading outposts, fleet yards, and cultural centers. Each was unique and depending on its size, was home to anywhere from hundreds of thousands to millions of Voth.
The ships were equipped with a transwarp drive, a phased cloak, industrial long-range transporter systems, and produced an internal electromagnetic dampening field. The latter made the ships nearly immune to invasion, and were theorized as being able stop Borg assimilation techniques.[1]
History and specifics[]
The Voth city ship located and captured the USS Voyager in 2373 and proceeded to beam the Federation starship aboard. Once aboard, the crew of the city ship established a ship-wide dampening field, which rendered tricorders, phasers, and main power inoperative. (VOY episode: "Distant Origin")
This specific city ship encountered by Voyager was approximately 11 km long.[2]
