Vulcan Space Central (or Space Central) was an organization which was tasked with overseeing all spacecraft traffic above and around Vulcan.

History and specifics[]

Space Central maintained a space station in orbit of Vulcan. (TOS episode: "Amok Time")

Space Central was very nearly destroyed in 2165 after the USS Endeavour was sabotaged to cause a warp engine breach by Vulcans loyal to the disgraced Vulcan High Command leader V'Las. Fortunately Tobin Dax and Michel Romaine uncovered the sabotage. The Endeavour was maneuvered out of the spacedock and once it was free vented the drive plasma, allowing a safe shutdown of Endeavour's warp drive. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Uncertain Logic)

In 2266, Space Central directed the transport uSS Yukon to the main spaceport on the outskirts of the planet's capital Shi'Kahr. (VAN novel: Open Secrets)

During an incident at the Vulcan Academy of Science in 2267, Captain James T. Kirk contacted Space Central where he declared an Emergency Code 3B in order to find a passenger that had recently arrived on Vulcan. (TOS novel: The Vulcan Academy Murders)

In 2281, Space Central cleared the approach of the Romulan spy Delar's ship to Vulcan. (TOS novel: Dwellers in the Crucible)

In 2327, Vulcan Space Center was the site of one of the first formal talks between the United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Union. The Legarans were also present on Space Central as observers of this summit. Vulcan Space Central's chief of security at the time was Suven. (TOS comic: "Enter the Wolves")

In 2336, Vulcan Space Central reported the disappearance of the warp shuttle T'Pol, last positioned thirty light-years from Farius Prime. (TLE novel: Well of Souls)
