Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Wai-Lin Go was a female human and a Captain in Starfleet. Go attended Starfleet Academy with Jill Leeden and the two became best friends. They shared a house on Prince Edward Island until Go got married. Leeden served as maid of honor at Go's wedding and sometime later, Go read the eulogy at Leeden's brother's funeral. Go and Leeden had been friends for over thirty years when Leeden was killed in 2378.

In 2379, Captain Go was assigned to lead an inspection tour of the USS Enterprise-E. She questioned Captain Jean-Luc Picard about the fact that many officers who had been achieving very high evaluations asked to transfer off the ship while a group of newer officers had been known to cause problems. She also questioned Lieutenant Commander Data about the loss of his emotion chip and about his short stint as acting captain of the USS Sutherland. Go avoided discussion of the Rashanar incident because she wanted to try to keep to a strict standard of what was relevant for the inspection.

The Enterprise passed its inspection despite the hostility of some of its members to Enterprise personnel. (TNG novel: A Time for War, A Time for Peace)
