For other uses, see Watcher.

Uatu the Watcher was a being of an alternate reality who, in keeping with his name, watched the universe. Eons in age, he was hairless and wore flowing robes, and possessed great powers.

Biography[]

The Watcher monitored tampering with universal energy fields which caused the X-Men to be drawn away from that, their own universe, into the reality of the Federation, which they had visited twice before. In the end, as they returned home, the Watcher asked Q why he had arranged for the reality transference. Q simply responded that the Q Continuum had interest in the evolution of beings into higher forms, and the X-Men becoming involved with the mutants of Xhaldia had been a fortunate occurrence in the overall progress of humanoids becoming greater than their physical forms.
