A television studio on Viden filming Welcome to the Family.

Welcome to the Family was a television show that was an example of the entertainment commonly broadcast on the planet Viden in the 23rd century.

History and specifics[]

Welcome to the Family was produced on Stage 243 of a studio owned by Trilateral Broadcasting Company and overseen by President Ted Tinker. The show featured teenagers Cam and Liza interacting with their parents. Liza called Cam "dumb-head" and hated frab beans. They sat down to eat dinner at the dining room table.

The actor who played Cam was cast for the show ahead of 2,000 applicants. But when he tried to quit showbiz and flee from the studio, a security guard shot and killed him. (TOS - Year Four comic: "Issue 4")

Cast[]

Welcome to the Family was very similar to Earth's Leave it to Beaver.
