Welcoming ceremony

The welcoming ceremony is a Ferengi tradition.

When a person enters a Ferengi home, the homeowner tells them: “this house is my house”, to which the visitor replies “as are its contents”. The visitor signs waivers and deposits a latinum gratuity. (DS9 episode: "Family Business")

In 2381, Federation President Nan Bacco welcomed Ferengi ambassador Derro in the tradition of the welcoming ceremony. (DY novel: Mere Mortals)
