Wilkes was a 24th century Human, an officer of Starfleet in the 2370s decade.

Biography[]

In the year 2374, Wilkes was assigned to the Federation starship USS Enterprise-E, in the security department. Wilkes was part of the crew of the Onizuka in that year, dispatched to the planet Xhaldia to confront Draa'kon invaders who were raiding the world to collect Xhaldians who had received genetic seeding to become mutants with powerful abilities.

One such individual, Rahatan, had consolidated power over numerous other of the transformed and was leading a campaign of terror against the Xhaldian government, who had imprisoned them, under cover of the chaos created by the Draa'kon raid. Approaching with Wilkes, Calderon ordered Rahatan to move down from the raised earthen mound where he was standing, but Commander William Riker, leader of the Onizuka away team, ordered Calderon and Wilkes to stand down, in the face of Rahatan's power. Rahatan took advantage of the diversion and, with psychokinesis, caused a major upheaval of rock and sand from where they were standing, killing Wilkes and Calderon. (TNG novel: Planet X)
