William Smythe was a human who lived in Scotland in the 18th century. He was the vicar of a parish on the moors between Fort Augustus and Inverness. In 1746, Smythe found the time-lost Montgomery Scott lying on the moor after his encounter with a mysterious old man and his vision of the land personified as a woman.
