Wilson Energies Limited was a 23rd century company that patented and manufactured Starfleet hand phasers.
History[]
The company was incorporated in the late 21st century on reference stardate 1/2600 as a manufacturer of a laser rifle cutting tool, later uprating to a hand laser able to disintegrate matter. In the aftermath of the Four Years War in the 2250s decade, a large creative team led by James Wilson developed the hand phaser. When Starfleet subsequently ordered 500,000 units to be delivered over 12 years, the company blossomed. Wilson followed up by crafting the type-2 phaser pistol and phaser rifle. After five large production centers were unable to keep up with demand, Wilson subcontracted manufacturing to as many as 20 firms, some of which were former competitors. In the late 2260s, on reference stardate 2/1104.11, Wilson released the type 1-B hand phaser, a new model that incorporated a longer-lasting power cell and touch pads instead of dials.
