Wilson Energies Limited was a 23rd century company that patented and manufactured Starfleet hand phasers.

History[]

The company was incorporated in the late 21st century on reference stardate 1/2600 as a manufacturer of a laser rifle cutting tool, later uprating to a hand laser able to disintegrate matter. In the aftermath of the Four Years War in the 2250s decade, a large creative team led by James Wilson developed the hand phaser. Starfleet initially purchased 100 units and tested them for two months. (Stardate Magazine vol. 1, Issue 5/6: "Corporate Profile: Wilson Energies")

When Starfleet subsequently ordered 500,000 units to be delivered over 12 years, the company blossomed. Wilson followed up by crafting the type-2 phaser pistol and phaser rifle. The business was based out of Great Britain on Earth and publicly traded under the abbreviation WlsEgy. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)

As the firm owned the patent on hand phasers, Wilson soon established branch offices throughout the Federation. (FASA RPG module: Trader Captains and Merchant Princes)

In the late 2260s, on reference stardate 2/1104.11, Wilson released the type 1-B hand phaser, a new model that incorporated a longer-lasting power cell and touch pads instead of dials. In the 2280s, Wilson Energies' HiEnergy Corp division continued to operate its five manufacturing centers. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)
