Wittering was a 23rd century Human man. He served in Starfleet aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2260s under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.
Biography[]
In 2269, Wittering was manning the communications station on the bridge when Kirk, Pavel Chekov, and Nyota Uhura were kidnapped by the Sackers. Spock asked Wittering to send an update to Starfleet Command over channel A, which they both knew the Sackers could intercept. Later, he put a transmission on the viewscreen showing all three were alive and well. He was oblivious to a subtle message from Kirk that they should stand by, which Leonard McCoy and Spock caught, and then relayed a communication from Admiral Quinlan to Spock's quarters.
