The Wraith-class was a type of stealth shuttle used by Starfleet in the late 23rd century. They had black hulls, and were equipped with near-silent anti-gravity generators.
History[]
WKI-2 in 2271.
Five Wraith-class shuttles were assigned to FCO Outpost 47 in 2269, used by the First Contact Office for covert study of the planet Talin IV. One, however, was photographed by the Talin military during its maneuvers. (TOS novel: Prime Directive)
At least one Wraith-class shuttle was assigned to the USS Enterprise between 2274 and 2282. (TOS - The Lost Years novel: Traitor Winds, TOS - Mere Anarchy eBook: The Darkness Drops Again)
The ISS Excelsior of the mirror universe also carried Wraith-class ships of a streamlined fighter configuration. (TOS video game: Shattered Universe)
