Wyatt was a 23rd century Human man. He served in Starfleet as a transporter chief aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk in the 2260s.

Ensign Wyatt was manning the transporter room during the ship's visit to Elba II, when Garth of Izar attempted to beam aboard the Enterprise after assuming the appearance of Spock. Kirk's suspicions were confirmed when "Spock" did not know a prearranged password. (TOS - Star Trek 5 novelization: Whom Gods Destroy)
Later that year, Wyatt beamed a landing party down to a Kalandan outpost. During transport, a hologram of Losira murdered him. Doctor Ignacio Sanchez conducted the autopsy and discovered that Wyatt's death was caused by cellular disruption, as would also happen to engineer John Watkins and geologist Robert D'Amato.
