Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow: The following content contains spoilers!

The Xaheans were a humanoid species that hailed from the planet Xahea, which their people shared an intrinsic link with, believing that the homeworld and the race that inhabited it came into existence at the same time.

History[]

In the 2250s, the species had achieved warp-capability and their planet became a power of high political relevance in the Milky Way Galaxy after the development of a means to recrystallize dilithium, which was devised by Me Hani Ika Hali Ka Po, a member of their royal family.

In later centuries, however, the Xaheans' fortunes wavered after their homeworld fell victim to Cardassian occupation. After the Dominion War, the ruined Xahea fell to environmental collapse and the Xaheans became a nomadic civilization that adopted isolationist stances and faced internal tensions until an encounter with the USS Discovery left renewed contact with the United Federation of Planets in the late 32nd century.
