Xarantine I, also known as Xarantine, was an inhabited planet, a class M world and the first planet of the Zeta Leporis[1] star system, located in the Xarantine sector and Pi Canis sector block of the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. It was the homeworld of the Xarantine species and its government. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Task Force Hippocrates")

History and specifications[]

In the 22nd century, the Xarantine were a starfaring civilization and clashed with the Klingon Empire. (ENT episode: "Sleeping Dogs")

In the 2160s decade, the Xarantine system was courted by the Federation as a potential member. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: A Choice of Futures)

By the year 2390, Xarantine Station was a Starfleet drydock facility in orbit of Xarantine. (TLE novel: Excelsior: Forged in Fire)

In 2409, the Federation dispatched the Vulcan science vessel VS T'Pau of Task Force Hippocrates to Xarantine to treat an outbreak of Takanian syndrome. The surface and a hospital were attacked by Gorn raiders and their Klingon Defense Force reinforcements. A Starfleet crew expelled the attackers, allowing Captain Saalar and his medical team to proceed with the treatment. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Task Force Hippocrates")
