The Xepolites were a humanoid civilization from the planet of the same name. Known for their neutrality, Xepolites traded with many species in the 24th century and were willing to engage in illegal acts when doing so.

In the year 2328, Hetman Foroe smuggled two Starfleet officers disguised as Bajorans onto Bajor. He then tried to smuggle a group of Bajorans off the planet, but was caught by the Cardassians. (ST - Terok Nor novel: Day of the Vipers)

In 2370, Hetman Drofo Awa smuggled weapons into the Demilitarized Zone for the Cardassians. Awa's starship was intercepted by Benjamin Sisko and Dukat aboard the USS Mekong. (DS9 episode: "The Maquis, Part II")
