Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A xurta was a type of explosive device used by a group called the Exiles during their occupation of Drema IV in the 2360s. They could be detonated by heat-sensitive or pressure-sensitive triggers, though it was impossible to determine which by simple examination. They were also impossible to scan for using Dreman technology. A xurta was inadvertently triggered in a dilithium mine on Drema IV in 2369, leading to a mine collapse, and numerous injuries and fatalities. (SCE eBook: Progress)
