Yarim Fel Syndrome is a terminal illness that affects Cardassians.
In 2373, Tekeny Ghemor learned he had Yarim Fel Syndrome and came to Deep Space 9 to undergo the Shri-tal ritual with Kira Nerys before he died. Although Kira was unwilling to stay with Ghemor after she learned he was present at the attack on the Kiessa Monastery, she later changed her mind and stayed with Ghemor until he died.
