Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Yeln Arvam was a male Bajoran who lived in the 24th century.

In 2361, Yeln was being detained in the Elemspur Cardassian detention facility with Alu and Bakka. Yeln was beaten to death by a Cardassian soldier soon after Kira Nerys was placed in his cell. In 2369, the Bajoran Militia discovered Yeln's body in one of the mass graves near Elemspur and took DNA samples from it. (DS9 novel: Fearful Symmetry)

In 2371, Kira spoke to someone who identified himself as being Yeln. He claimed to remember seeing Kira in Elemspur. After Kira returned to Deep Space 9 after having been kidnapped by the Obsidian Order, it was believed Yeln was involved. Yeln had disappeared, and it was thought he was a Cardassian agent and responsible for adding Kira's name to the Elemspur records of detainees. (DS9 episode: "Second Skin")

The investigation into Yeln was handled by Bajoran Intelligence, much to Odo's chagrin. In 2377, Ro Laren conducted her own investigation, discovering that Yeln had died during the time Kira was said to be at Elemspur and could not have been the individual she spoke to six years earlier. Ro believed an Obsidian Order operative had been surgically altered to resemble Yeln. (DS9 novel: Fearful Symmetry)
