"Gods. Demanding fealty and forgiveness while keeping secrets and trading lives. Demanding we remind ourselves always that we were unworthy of them. When it was them who were not worthy of us."
Yeor[src]

Yeor was a male Vorta that worked as a facility administrator for the Dominion during its war with the Federation Alliance, then later became a counselor within the Cardassian Reclamation.

Biography[]

Tasked with overseeing the production of food supplies for their forces, Yeor and the predecessors that had been cloned from his template managed the manufacturing a variety of flavourless tubers that were used to create rations for the soldiers of their government. According to Yeor, the responsibilities given to his line revolved around production cycles, effort-to-cost optimisation and quality control, a fact that the Vorta resented, believing that these duties were all that his creators permitted him to be. Stationed on the planet Thruune-Dahl within the Gamma Quadrant, Yeor remained there for the duration of the Dominion War but later became a trusted advisor to Barada Damar, leader of the Cardassian Reclamation, holding the position of Counselor. By this time, Yeor — along with the Jem'Hadar Zero — had become disillusioned with the rule of the Founders, believing that the shapeshifters that both their species revered as gods did not deserve their loyalty and noting that because of their actions, the Vorta had been left without survival instincts, forcing them to rely on cloning. As a result, Yeor sought to locate a surviving Changeling that had been hidden at the Tong Beak Nebula and killed it in 2378, carrying out the execution using a concealed phaser hidden within a cane he used. In that same year, Yeor served as persecutor for the trial of Benjamin Sisko and condemned the captain for the repercussions that his actions had brought upon the Cardassian people, who had been the victims to attempted genocide at the end of the Dominion War. Before an assemblage of Cardassian spectators, Yeor condemned the Starfleet officer for his actions and labelled him as misguided tyrant that had caused the deaths of billions during his "holy crusade". Claiming that he did not bear the United Federation of Planets any ill-will and harboured no desire to see the return of the Founders, Yeor briefly argued with Elim Garak — who was serving as the defence — over his ethics and the role his counterpart had played in the war by assisting the Cardassian Liberation Front with their guerilla campaign. In answer, Garek reminded the court that his actions were not relevant to the case, but the Vorta countered that his position as the opposing counsel made his integrity a questionable subject. Denying that his own feelings towards both the Federation and the Dominion were relevant, Yeor was allowed to call forth thirty separate witnesses to validate his argument that Sisko should be executed. When Garek called Zero to act as a witness for his argument, Yeor protested briefly, but was shot down by the Jem'Hadar. In actuality, however, Damar had utilised the trial to identify the opposition within his new Restoration, enabling him to enact a massive culling that Yeor bore witness to, standing beside his lord during the execution. After this, Yeor explained to Benjamin Sisko that his trial had been enacted to remove the rot within the Cardassian government. (ST - The Red Path comics: "Part 2", "Part 3")

Afterwards, Yeor accompanied the survivors of the faux trial to the Tong Beak Nor, where a conflict had broken out between the crew of the USS Theseus and Cardassians that belonged to the Red Path cult. Breaking away during the conflict, Yeor proceeded to travel to where the Changeling was being kept and released the Founder, only to be confronted by Sisko, who was under the misimpression that the Vorta was looking for a specific weapon. Introducing the shapeshifter as the only one of its kind to have been spared the biogenic virus that Section 31 had infected the Founders with, Yeor explained that the being had been hidden away for the right moment but further expressed his contempt for the leaders of the Dominion, decrying their gods as being unworthy of the worship that their servant races had shown them. With this declaration, the former administrator blasted the shapeshifter through the head before the eyes of Zero and Sisko. Standing over the smoldering remains of the Changelings, Yeor credited the latter of his audience for helping to teach him and Zero about the falsehoods of the Founders and departed, suggesting that the captain might one day learn the same lesson himself.
