Grand Nagus staff

The Staff of the Nagus.

Yost was a Ferengi male and the second Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance.

Biography[]

After Gint died in the year 207, Yost told the people of Ferenginar that Gint would return if every Ferengi bought a Gint figurine and prayed to the Blessed Exchequer, Gint would return from the Divine Treasury. Eight billion figurines were bought by the three billion Ferengi alive at the time, although Gint did not return.

Meanwhile, Yost, who owned a percentage of the company that made the figurines, became the richest man on the planet and the second Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance. He later unveiled a new Rule of Acquisition, the one hundred and fourth rule, "Faith moves mountains... of inventory". (DS9 novel: Legends of the Ferengi)
