Yvette Gessard Picard was the wife of Maurice Picard and mother to Robert Picard and Jean-Luc Picard.
Yvette lives in the Picard family home in LaBarre, France, and helped Maurice tend the vineyard as well as bring up the children. While Maurice wanted their sons to continue to run the vineyard following his death. Yvette encouraged her sons to develop beyond the family business. She encouraged Jean-Luc to practise to play the piano, which made her happy, until he decided to stop playing (TNG episodes: "Where No One Has Gone Before" and "Conundrum").
In the TNG comic The Gift, Yvette was named as Christine.
