- For the regular universe counterpart, see Zefram Cochrane.
In the mirror universe, Zefram Cochrane was a scientist of the Terran Empire, and was probably its first Emperor.
His accomplishments were well-known, even after the fall of the Terran Empire. In 2371, Vash's mirror counterpart called Noonien Soong's mirror counterpart a genius, comparing him to Cochrane and Daystrom's mirror counterpart. (ENT episode: "In a Mirror, Darkly"; TNG novel: The Worst of Both Worlds)
In the version of the mirror universe presented in William Shatner's Star Trek novels, Zefram Cochrane is directly responsible for the founding of the Terran Empire. After the events of Star Trek: First Contact Cochrane chose to warn the Vulcans about the Borg threat, leading to Earth & Vulcan forming a military alliance which eventually evolves into the Empire. (ST novel: Spectre , ST novel: Dark Victory)
