Zeta-Atez was a planet located in a binary star system within a sector containing the Gates of Scylla Confederation, located near the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant. It was the homeworld of the interstellar Zeta-Atezian civilization.

History and specifics[]

Zeta-Atez had three moons as well as a nearby formation of asteroids. It had a blue sky with plains and rivers. Its climate and soil were unique for growing lozite-M, a valuable bio-metallite plant.

Its government was led by the hereditary Imperator of Zeta-Atez and his prime minister. The imperator was also the leader of the Gates of Scylla Confederation.

In 2224, Zeta-Atez formally joined the Federation.

In 2274, following a power transition in the planet's government, a fleet of Klingon starships amassed along the Klingon border near Zeta-Atez, eager to claim the planet for the Klingon Empire after the new imperator announced plans to secede. Since he was also scheduling a planet-wide gala for the world's 50th anniversary of Federation membership, mixed messages prompted Starfleet to send the starship USS Enterprise on a diplomatic mission to stabilize the region.
