Zumsteg was a Starfleet officer who was serving as ship's counselor aboard the USS Odyssey in the year 2370. (DS9 - The Brave and the Bold, Book One novella: The Second Artifact)

Zumsteg presumably perished in 2370 during the Odyssey's confrontation with the Jem'Hadar in DS9 episode: "The Jem'Hadar", although it is also possible that this person was among the supplemental personnel left behind on Deep Space 9.
